How many poodles in Italy?
The price of a poodle is built based on market demands. The Poodle breed is currently the most sought after worldwide.

Do not consider the data reported on the internet, consult the ENCI website and you will verify the demand curve with an exponential peak for the breed in question. The reasons are linked to the extreme versatility of the dog, suitable for many situations and life contexts, hypoallergenic, clean, suitable for traveling by plane in the smaller sizes.
The higher the market demand, the higher the selling price. The price difference can depend on many factors such as the genetic lines studied and selected by the breeders, the size, the color, the specific technical characteristics, the guarantees offered by the breeder.
The price of toy poodle
An accurate selection conducted by the breeder requires costs and breeding care that will affect the final price, such as:
Medical screening: conducting screening tests for the main genetic diseases of the parents, or the certification of the absence of patellar luxation conducted by orthopedic experts allows to guarantee greater health of the dog
Participation in exhibition contexts: participation in exhibition contexts with the obtaining of excellent judgments by expert judges guarantees that the parents of the puppies possess all the typical characteristics of the breed
Growth in a protected and stimulating environment: puppies must live in an environment in contact with their mother and with human references, able to receive at the same time positive stimuli for harmonious growth and protection.
Correct nutrition: Puppies and mothers must be fed a quality diet that allows them to achieve optimal psycho-physical development
Selection of breeders with high pedigree: The selection of quality breeders is an equally important element to ensure that certain physical or attitudinal traits are passed on to their offspring.
一分钱一分货 yì fën qián yì fën huò The higher the price, the higher the quality: this is a Chinese saying, which means that if you want a quality product, the price must also correspond to it.
Price of the toy poodle: the toy poodle typically has a higher cost because due to its size, from gestation to birth, its growth presents greater criticality and requires more care than a larger poodle. Be wary when you are not offered a guarantee on the size of the toy poodle puppy.

Feeding
The feeding of a Poodle can have different costs depending on how it is set up. It is important to choose a quality diet that does not contain allergens for the dog, therefore definitely grain-free.
The Toy Poodle is a small breed with specific nutritional needs. A balanced diet is essential to ensure its health and well-being.
For a small dog, the monthly expense for food can be less than 50 euros if you use mainly kibble. The inclusion of wet food or homemade diets can increase the cost.
Quantity of food
An adult Toy Poodle generally consumes about 100 grams of food per day, divided into two meals. However, the quantity can vary based on the age, weight and activity level of the dog. It is important to monitor body weight and adjust portions accordingly.
Food to avoid:
- Cibi fritti, speziati o grassi
- Dolci, in particolare cioccolato
Grooming
For our poodles it is important to be able to have a bath at least once a week or every 15 days. Once a month it is also important to be able to be groomed by a professional for hair care, cleaning of ears and eyes. Typically we can estimate an average cost of around 50 to 200 euros per month per dog for the grooming of our furry friends.
Medical Care
Buying a dog from a certified breeder guarantees that your puppy is free from all the main pathologies typical of the breed, since the puppy is born from healthy parents and free from the main pathologies such as patella luxation for example, since all our breeders are tested in ENCI certified laboratories for the absence of patella luxation.
The necessary medical care is routine medical care, essentially linked to vaccination cycles that require an annual cost of about 100 euros and periodic check-ups. In small poodles, periodic teeth cleaning may be necessary, to be done by the vet to remove tartar.
Dog Trainer
The Mater Dei poodle breeding also takes care of training puppies in the first few months so that they can have a safe and stable imprinting for integration into family life.
This includes socializing the dog to different situations (people, animals, noises, etc.), getting used to using the toilet for its needs, and proper nutrition.
Generally, rates for single sessions with a professional dog trainer range between 25 and 50 euros per session, although some professionals offer lesson packages at prices between 200 and 300 euros, which may be more convenient for complete training programs.
It is important to consider that these prices may differ based on the trainer’s experience, the region and the specific behavioral needs of the dog. Our kennel also offers this training service, since our founder Caterina Procopio is an ENCI handler.
